Jennifer Wagster has been an attorney at the Hinshaw Law Firm since 2002. A native of the Bay Area, she was born in Oakland, California, in 1956. Ms. Wagster attended San Jose State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1994 with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Economics. She attended the Santa Clara University School of Law, obtaining her J.D. in 1998, and received a Public Interest Law Certificate at Santa Clara. She was admitted to the State Bar of California and the United States District Court, Northern District of California in December of 1998.
Prior to her admission to the State Bar, she worked as a Certified Law Student at Santa Clara University’s Community Law Center, representing clients in employment law matters, and as a paralegal at Pederson & McCoy, house counsel for Farmers Insurance. After admission, but prior to joining the Hinshaw firm in 2002, Ms. Wagster was an associate attorney at Hoover & Bechtel, LLP, practicing family law, from 1999 to 2002. Prior to joining Hoover & Bechtel in 1999, she was an attorney at the Pro Bono Project, representing clients in family law matters and defending clients in child paternity and support cases, and at Diane Ritchie and Associates, an employment law firm.
Ms. Wagster’s law practice is dedicated to the defense of physicians, nurses and other medical providers in medical malpractice lawsuits.
Ms. Wagster has been married to her husband, Joseph, since 1983. Prior to her legal career, she was employed in the HVAC industry, completing a four-year apprenticeship through San Jose City College in 1984. She enjoys remodeling and building, hiking, camping, gardening, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
