Rory is a UCLA undergraduate, a graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Law, and since 2001 he has been a partner in the Giancola Law Office, PLLC, a criminal defense firm with offices in Anoka and Buffalo, Minnesota. He has handled countless criminal cases to completion from DWI and traffic offenses to murder.

From September 2001 through September 2005, Rory also served as a half-time Public Defender with the Tenth Judicial Public Defender's Office. In essence, Rory provided effective representation to both public and private clientele.

From April 200 to June of 2001, Rory worked as an Associate Attorney at Meshbesher & Associates where he handled a multitude of criminal cases throughout the State of Minnesota.

From May 1998 to April 2000 Rory was employed as a Law Clerk at the Anoka County Attorney's Office. He was initially assigned to the Civil Division. His duties primarily entailed writing appellate briefs on topics such as certification for adult prosecution, federal habeas corpus relief, and wrongfully obtaining unemployment insurance benefits. Because his passion lies in the courtroom, he requested - and was granted - a transfer to the Criminal Division. As a law clerk for the Criminal Division, he handled a wide variety of courtroom appearances.

During law school, Rory's dedication to criminal law is evidence by the following:

During his first year of law school (Summer of 1997), he served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Kim McLane Wardlaw, United States District Court, Central District of California (recently appointed to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals).

During his second year of law school, Rory volunteered each Friday at the Ramsey County Public Defender's Office as a Certified Student Attorney. As a Certified Student Attorney, he represented both "in-custody" and "walk-in" clients at misdemeanor arraignments.

During his third year of law school, he served as the Student Director for the Misdemeanor Defense Clinic. As a Student Clinical Director he oversaw the work of students enrolled in the clinic. In essence, he assisted students with case evaluation and management, motion preparation, defense strategies, and general trial preparation.

An effective criminal defense attorney must possess strong skills in oral advocacy, legal research, analysis, and writing. Rory's education and legal experience have positioned him to excel in each of these areas and to thrive as a private criminal defense attorney in the State of Minnesota.
